What happens if you touch a bose einstein condensate?

    What with?

    The stuff is at almost 0 K, and inside a vacuum chamber. You certainly can't put a finger in there.

    And there is almost nothing there to touch... They are tiny...... just a few hundred atoms....

    If you could touch one, it would have long since ceased to be a condensate by the time your finger reached it.

    And it wouldn't explode.... there is not a lot of energy locked away in it.

    The excitement is over the optical and electrical properties of this state of matter....... nothing yet on a human scale.
