Because of Peggy's misinformation I felt compelled to answer this question: When you go to sleep you have a very short dream as you drop towards deep sleep. This is followed by 90 minutes of no dreams. You then get close to waking up and dream for about five minutes after which you go back to deep sleep with delta waves and no dreams. After that you rise again to almost waking and dream for 10 minutes. Then follows again a 90-minute period of dreamless delta waves.

This continues all night with the dream episodes getting longer and longer. You may have four or even five such dream periods, depending on how long you sleep. The last dream can be as long as forty (40) minutes. That dreams last only two seconds is a gross misunderstanding of dreams.

Source(s): Kurt Forrer, Dream Interpreter. Sources: “Pregrams of Tomorrow” and “Tomorrow in your Dreams”. The latter can be obtained from Amazon/Kindle as eBook or paperback. It shows you how to read your dreams step by step. There are 144 examples of interpretation.

Actually one dream is 2 seconds. So you have many, many MANY more.
