Gerbils are amazing pets me and my sister both had one and eventually my gerbil used to chew on the bars so i would get him out he loved exploring. There easy to look after and arent boring they love to explore new thigs and are very inquistitive they make lovely companions XD

Do some research on mice and hamsters as well. If you can handle something a bit larger and more demanding, look into rats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets.
