Had a fever for a week and now a rash with swollen glands?

My friend had a fever for about a week with night sweats and chills. 103.8 was the highest temp he had. After his fever went down to a mild one of 99.8, he had swollen nodes in his neck. He was put on antibiotics for pharyngitis and sinusitis. After 2 weeks from the start of his fever, he's developed a rash on his legs and hands. He also has a big swollen gland in his groin. No fever now. He has chronic psoriasis and they recently took him off of his psoriasis medication. He's 38 and has been on it since he was 14. It came back with a vengeance, plus his mother just passed away a few months ago and he was really close to her. He's been depressed a lot as well. Right now, he's got the rash on his hands and legs which the rash on his legs were painful for a few days (the bumps are small and hard to the touch), swollen node in his groin and complains of right hip joint pain and mild headaches. What could be causing all of these symptoms? I just don't understand what's going on with him. I'm trying to convince him to go to the emergency room, but he wants to wait until Tuesday to see a doctor.

Psoriasis is an auto immune disease. Fever triggers psoriasis as hell. Psoriasis patches or rashes can appear in 24 hours. So it's possible to go to sleep clean and wake up with a rash.

I don't know what medication he was on for psoriasis, but cortisone creams for topical treatment are addictive. Meaning your psoriasis gets worse as soon as you stop using the creams.

If he was on pills like '' Neoral '' and so, or even injections ( example : Humira,Stellara,Enbrel,Remigate) and he recently stopped taking them, it is normal to start having patches again. When you stop a treatment ( any ) your psoriasis will get worse. Sometimes really worse.

All treatments , except creams, weaken the immune system. The only way to treat psoriasis is to lower the ability of the body to fight. Psoriasis is an auto immune disease, meaning our own body attacks itself. With a low immune system he can't do that and you are psoriasis free.

But with a low immune system you get easily sick by infections, flu, colds, cancer anything actually.

When you need to take antibiotics for a reason, you have to stop the treatment for psoriasis. Antibiotics have the opposite effect on psoriasis, they trigger it.

Lots of the symptoms you mentioned are from pharyngitis and sinusitis. If you think that he is not getting better and the antibiotics don't work, you need to see a doctor again and change them or maybe do some more tests.

Sinusitis is also an autoimmune disease. People with at least 1 auto immune disease are more likely to get another one. Stress and anxiety can trigger all those diseases.

You would have strep throat, which for those who want medication, Strep throat may just look innocent , however left untreated the bacteria can go straight to your mind and repeatedly be fatal. Go see a physician. Do you will have whatever white for your throat? If this is the case might be thrush, which is a yeast contamination for your throat. Also you may need meds. And i might take some probotics after antibiotics to stability off your process.
