Is the contraceptive implant better than the coil?
I have had a Mirena coil for the last 6 months and have had nothing but trouble with it: periods although light last a fortnight, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off; it spikes my partner when we're having sex which again makes me bleed.
I have previously been on various versions of the pill without too many complications but I have a problem remembering to take it so I'm considering the implant when I have the coil removed but having Googled it I've read some horror stories.
Has anybody got experience of both contraceptives? I know they're not keen to remove them once they're in and don't want another 6+ months with rotten periods.
Without contraception I get about 5 days of period, every 4 weeks, very heavy for 1-2 days but I prefer that to what I'm getting at the moment.

ignore the horror storys im n my second implant and im loving it!! no experience with the coil as i dont want any one but my other half messing with me lady garden one of the reasons i thought the implant was excellent as if its your first time it only takes a few mins your in your out and no pain i admit the first weeks a pain in the *** as for two days you have to wear a bandage and for the first week you cant get it wet but after that its fine
yes it can move if you do not listen to the instructions you are not meant to lift anything heavy with that arm or drive for two days to stay on the safe side i didnt for a few more days
there is no need to remember pills or anything and seeing as it lasts 3 years its excellent
