Solubility of group 2 hydroxides?
My olevel chem guidebook says that only calcium and magnesium hydroxides are sparingly soluble. ( did not say anything else about other group 2 metals). However,
http://www.chemguide.co.uk/inorganic/group2/solubi...
says that the hydroxides become more soluble as you go down the group.
So which is correct?
@plays_poorly
Does that mean that "the bigger the cation, the more loosely the OH- ions are bound"= more soluble?
Thanks for answering :)

The book is correct; the bigger the cation, the more loosely the OH- ions are bound.
