Which is the best bench in league history?

I would say the '05-'06 Suns. Leandro Barbosa won a 6th Man of the Year award, Eddie House was one of the top bench players in the league, Tim Thomas was one of the top bench players in the league, James Jones was a good bench player.

You could even count Boris Diaw, who was a bench player but had to start most of the season because of injuries. Boris Diaw was one of the top 10-15 big men in the league.

Edit: Also should point out the Bad Boy Pistons of the late 80s, who had Defensive Player of the Year and future Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman as their 6th man, along with several other good players.

I agree that the Spurs could possibly be up there for the best bench. There bench scored 82 points in one game, which is sometimes more then what other teams get in a game. They have got a good bunch of young guys for the Spurs and should continue to win games even when the Spurs Big 3 retire. The Spurs have a good bench and with Manu also coming of the bench I am confident that the are probably the best ever benches.

Spurs are the best right now, but for the best in league history, I'd have to go back to the Celtics, the Russell years with their dynasty. You had a top 50 player of all time, John Havlicek, coming off the bench, and a number of other exceptional players.

2010 suns maybe. That bench itself could beat teams. They handled the spurs and almost the Lakers in 2010. If course they had help from the starters but it was a good bench.
