Car bogging down at highway speeds?

I have a 1998 honda accord ex 3.0 v6. 267k miles. Yesterday it started bogging down at highway speeds, but not all the time. Was told by mechanic shop it isn't the fuel filter- my car doesnt have one. It will start loosing RPMs and slow down, then jump back up to normal. Then a mile or so down the road it will start doing it again. Any idea why? Oil change, new air filter, new oil filter.

Update:

took it to a mechanic shop. It kept reading the egr valve. so we put a new one one. had them clear the code. about 20 miles later, it started reading egr valve again. maybe it is the wiring for the egr?

Was told by dealership that Accords dont have a fuel filter. It only has a 'sock' in the tank itself.

    The dealer is wrong !!!!

The fuel filter is an integrated part of the fuel pump assembly and is located in the fuel tank.

    Honda Part # 16010S84A01 Retail $63.43

Honda Labor 1.0 hour to replace it.

Your car has to have a Fuel Filter, to filter out the junk in the gas tank or your car will do things like this.

Low Fuel pressure could be caused by a old fuel filter, or a bad fuel pump.

Sparkplugs can also fail at high speed or going up hills.

Your catalytic convertor is probably plugged. Pretty high mileage. Have it tested.
