Is it possible, even just using maths to remove much of the space within atoms?

The 'structure' of atoms is a 'model' or 'theory' developed to explain the results of various experiments that show that 'most of an atom is empty space most of the time' (electrons most probably** 'occupy' or 'smear' themselves over much of the space in a probable way)

So 'yes', but only because the mathematical formula (Quantum Theory) correctly predict what we have found by experiment (if it did not, we would develop a new theory).....

So using the various formula proves nothing ...

**probability always being a bit of an issue with anything Quantum) :-)
