Why won't Yahoo deal with the racist comments on their articles?

I emailed asking them similar, they removed the comment I complained about but then I got a reply saying I should ask contacts to report it and then it is more likely to be removed, instead of emailing them.

It just shows that it's all automated and no one is really checking.

It has come to the point where no matter what you say any individual will get offended and speak to it "racist". The time period is so overused and misapplied it's ridiculous. Some folks even say that if you name unlawful mexicans criminals (which they are, underneath our legal guidelines) that you are responsible of rasicm, which is a crock, pure and easy. Despite the fact that it's statistically authentic that blacks commit more crime that whites, if you make a announcement to that result, which is borne up by way of truth, you're labelled a "racist" on the other hand. The pat response via any person who does not like what you say, specially if it's a proper statement, is to name you a racist or an anti-Semite, implying you're guilty of hate and how can you say one of these factor; that it might be a completely genuine declaration does not subject to them. So I think that in case your response to the whole lot anyone says that you don't agree to is to name that person a "racist", you need to take a protracted tough inward look and find out what your actual trouble is.

Actually, a nut called 'Robbie' has just made me aware of this question, who seems to have a few problems of his own.

You will have to accept Yahoo Answers has become the best ever method for some people on here to get whatever it is out of their heads onto a screen, for they know if they went outside and shouted it out to all and sundry, they wouldn't last ten minutes. Do you think they don't know that?

Especially 'Robbie', and a few others who have troubled themselves to answer.

It's not just comments you judge as 'racist' that seem to attract others on here, but as long as Yahoo Answers exists, there will always be 'Robbie' claiming to be everyone from Haile Selassie to Mother Superior, and a couple eager to state that they are the ONLY 'social and moral' figures who's rants all should should read. Or else.

And if someone has the cheek to disagree with rant, if only slightly. He/she becomes the 'scum' of Yahoo Answers. I realise your concern, with various examples, shows us the odd Answers, but the good thing about where I live, I have friends who I meet frequently, and will never do, what some will do on here, rely on it to build up an 'attitude' which will only be used for here and here alone.

Most people who bandy the word "racism" do not understand the meaning of the word, it has become lost under a snow-storm of political correctness which by the way happens to be more racist than the racism it purports to prevent!

Islam is a Political cultural force,not a religion.

It is the offensive political and cultural side of their activities,to which I object.

But if course some people only see racism if the comments are anti Islam or anti black.....often getting all hot under the colour about it like doggy and joeke.

But are more than happy to make racial or bigoted slurs against White or gay users.....apparently that can't be racist or bigoted because they are guardians of this site...racist spotters.

Look at joeke ( robbie) day after day he posts anti British, anti White poison....threatens other users

and posts libellous garbage that he claims other users have said ....all totally untrue if course but he is so wrapped up in his hatred that he transfers his views into other users.....

If Yahoo is going to delete every racist comments that is being made on the site, how are the individuals that are making those comments going to know that there are far more intelligent people using Yahoo answers.

I would like Yahoo to leave the racist comments as it give me the opportunity to deal with these racist in an effective manner, because in most cases racist do not have any effective arguments as to their behaviour and they need to understand that there are more of us in the real world that do not promote racism and have the ability to effectively deal with their narrow-minded attitudes, therefore I am in favour of Yahoo answers allowing the racist to have their say, after all that is what 'Freedom of Speech' is all about.

You cannot curtail the rights of other to demonstrate their feelings, irrespective of how warp those ideas maybe they have a fundamental right to voiced their opinions and we have the same rights to show them the errors of their ways.

If the comment that you referred to was deleted by Yahoo, you would not be in the position to be able to read the ignorance of some people. Yahoo answers in my opinion is about debate, helping others, passing relevant information to each other and so long as no one abuses or being disrespectful to another user, we cannot delete information that generate debate because it is not in keeping with our own.

what do you call it when things like affirmative action... purely racist and institutionaled policy is referred to as "non-racist" and promoted by people who fancy themselves "anti-racist"

that is MUCH more disturbing than anything the commenter said. at least you can see anger...not a self serving veneer.

have YOU ever spared a breathe for it? or are you quite selective in what you deem worthy to be called racism? are you a victim in that you only feel safe speaking out against acceptable "bad" racism ...while keeping your mouth tightly shut under all other circumstances.? "twisted cretin" indeed.

Muslims are not a race but members of a `religion'. As people see more and more what this `religion actually represents and the actions of it's members then you will get comments from people.

If the Muslims or other types do wrong then it would be equally wrong to cover it up. My comments are almost always thumbed down.

You have this whole thing backwards. Racism is normal and natural. Racism is the default setting of the human animal. The majority of human beings who have ever lived were racist. The majority of humans who are alive now are racist. Probably the majority who ever live, will be racist. People, who are actually not racist, are extremely unusual. In fact, they should probably become Buddhist monks, & spend their lives meditating, because they're THAT DIFFERENT from normal people.
