Does vegetables get contaminated by mercury in the soil?

lets say if a mercury thermometer broke and the mercury contaminated the soil. And what would actually happened if i consume the vegetable contaminated by the mercury?

    no at such small extent there is no problem, but if soil contain large amount of mercury, they can become harmful

    Depends how much mercury you consumed. If it was a small amount you would be fine.
