Why do some baseball fans still believe in the myth that pitching is 75 % or more of baseball ?

Update:

Calling other avatars morons is not an answer to the question.

For every run scored by any team, another team has allowed it.

This is why pitching can't be more than 50 % of baseball

Actually the fielders make 85 % of the outs anyway.

    Another ridiculous piece of baseball lore that just gets accepted without proof and passed on from generation to generation. You need offense, defense and pitching. Actually pitching and defense are combined.

    Pitching and defense wins championships. Pitching > hitting. Just ask the Texas Rangers.

    because the average hitter hits around .250 so pitchers always have the advantage.
