Both boiling water and chemical powder can be used to get rid of bindweed. Careful to use these chemicals because any other plant you apply it to will die. These methods are ideal for areas where bindweed is growing but there are no other plants you wish to save. If bindweed is growing among your existing plants then it can be very difficult to remove manually, the roots quickly grow into the root ball of your plants where they become almost impossible to remove.

I remove MOST of the plant and dab some Roundup in high concentrate on it. I don't buy the premix stuff. I even use this to get rid of unwanted tree saplings - cut them off, paint 50% concentrate on the stump.
