Can you negotiate computer prices at Best Buy?

I'm looking to buy a new desktop computer but Best Buy is a ripoff. They don't tell you you need a bigger power supply than the one the computer I'm looking at already has and the computer screen that comes with the package is ancient(not HDMI).

So does anyone know if I can negotiate a lower price?

Update:

Brad thanks for the help there but I was told they do negotiate however they usually never like to tell you that since they get no commission. I'm not sure if that is for all their products but I know for a fact it is not only on open box items.

I used to work for the Geek Squad. You can sometimes negotiate prices on open box items, but not at all on regular priced items. Best Buy doesn't make money on computers, they make it on attachments. So if you wanna negotiate a price, add on a case or Tech Support from Geek Squad ;)

it somewhat relies upon on what you recommend via the computers have been "marked $ninety 8." Did the computers also have a tag ON them that mentioned that? if so, then I completely think of they might desire to have bought you the computer for that fee--yet they're in undemanding terms required to sell you one at that fee. If on the different hand there became a value tag on the shelf decrease than the computers, then it somewhat relies upon on if the skew numbers matched up. in the event that they did then you definitely offered ripped off, in the event that they did not then it became the fool inventory clerk that positioned the computers there and did not difficulty taking down an previous fee ticket.
