I would suggest searching books or the internet to make sure the foods you plan on giving your horse are safe. Because see, even within a couple comments you see people seeing that they feed their horse something, but then someone else comments and says its poisonous! So try not to feed your horse anything before knowing for sure if its okay for him :)
An example is parsley, apparently it's super poisonous to horses! But who would have guessed right!?

My mare only gets her grazing, hay, high fibre cubes and a polo after her work. VERY occasionally I'll give her a carrot or apple. She's robbed the kids of crisps before and loves Doritos!!! But like I say, she robbed them, she wasn't given them. Please be very careful. Ask your vet about which food/treats and in which quantities if you are in any doubt. There are aslo alot of treats on the market specifically for horses - try these maybe. I'm sure you're aware of obesity, laminitis, gut issues etc. just to name a few. Enjoy your horse but don't kill him with kindness. He will love you anyway.

I heard that Potatoes are poisonous to Horses, and do NOT give them alot of bread. They could get colic, etc. I sometimes buy a huge Melon or something and put it with all my Horses, and they will crack it open and eat it:) I have been around Horses all my life, and my Horses LOVE alot of fruit and vegetables... I do NOT, NOT feed them meat. That is disgusting (Sorry, its just some people feed them meat, that is just wrong:() Horses are not made to digest meat. Horses can eat most fruit and veggies:D Put some are poisonous and some can only be fed in small doses. Dont give them too much sugar. I think you caqn get books or information on what you can give them, and how much of it:') This is long but ohwell...:) Good Luck!!!!
