- ?Lv 69 years agoFavorite Answer1. LeBron James: flat out best player in the world. Coming off an NBA title and Finals MVP award. Best all-around player in the game. Need I say more? 2. Kevin Durant: best pure scorer in the league. Very young, lots of potential. Will undoubtedly lead the Thunder to many championships. 3. Dwight Howard: best center in the league (and a very valuable player to have, considering the lack of talent at the center position). Provides top-notch interior defense. Post game is still raw and FT shooting needs work. 4. Kobe Bryant: veteran leader and player. One of the most clutch players in the league and unstoppable with the ball in his hands. 5. Chris Paul: makes all his teammates around him better with his pass-distributing. 6. Dwyane Wade: all-around player. One of the best players at taking the ball to the rim. Underrated defender. 7. Kevin Love: double-double machine. Can go off for 20 points and 20 rebounds any given game and has the ability to expand his game to the three-point line. Displays great fundamentals. 8. Deron Williams: an efficient scorer (for a point guard) and playmaker. One of the top scorers in the league despite playing point guard. 9. Rajon Rondo: one of, if not the, best passers in the league. Pesky defender and always looking to set his teammates up. If he develops a jump shot, he could easily be a top 5 player. 10. Dirk Nowitzki: veteran player, classy guy. Led the Mavericks to a championship a year ago and is impossible to guard. The best big-man shooter in the league and, like Love, can expand his range from mid-range to the three-point line. 11. Andrew Bynum: very raw player. He will have every opportunity to better his game as the 76ers will center their game around him. Needs to work on maturity issues though. If he can overcome them, he could very well go down as one of the greatest. 12. LaMarcus Aldridge: very underrated franchise player. Has an array of accomplished post and mid-range moves. 13. Steve Nash: despite being almost 40, still a quality star. Best play-maker in the game and can knock down shots with his sexy shooting stroke when he needs to. 14. Russell Westbrook: at only 23, Westbrook is part of the two-headed OKC threat with Kevin Durant and will have plenty of opportunities to grow on a young Thunder team. Very athletic player and decent mid-range shooter. Still has a lot of weaknesses, but he still has a long way ahead of him. 15. Pau Gasol: accomplished Spaniard star. Despite being relegated to 3rd option on the Lakers' squad, Gasol has proved he can be a franchise centerpiece with his post moves. 16. James Harden: best sixth man in the league who can be counted on to bring his game every game. Above average pass distributor (better than Westbrook) who is also a scoring threat with his speed and ability to finish at the rim. 17. Tony Parker: underrated leader for the underrated San Antonio Spurs. He has flown under the radar for a while now, but he still keeps reminding us that the Spurs are still one of the best teams in the league. 18. Carmelo Anthony: second best pure scorer in the league (first is Durant). Unfortunately, besides his clutch and scoring abilities, that's all Anthony, in reality, provides. He's one of those players with a lot of talent, but can be a cancer to his team (remember the Knicks when Amar'e Stoudemire was an MVP candidate, before Anthony arrived?). 19. Marc Gasol: underrated center and underrated passer for his position. He has slowly but surely climbed the ranks and will no doubt be past his brother, Pau, in my rankings within the next few seasons. 20. Josh Smith: one of the best defenders in the league. Very athletic and versatile (can play either small forward or power forward). Honorable mention: Rudy Gay, Paul Pierce, Ty Lawson, Tyson Chandler, Blake Griffin *I left out Derrick Rose from my list because he's still recovering from a massive injury. When healthy, I would have him at my eighth spot, just above Deron Williams. .
