15 hours or 15 minutes?
You need to be a little bit more detailed on what your project goals are. Nobody is going to be able to help you enough to make a difference to you without being much more exact on what it is your looking for.
At the moment people would be hard pressed to figure out if you are doing a presentation or an experiment. I mean 15HRs?
Also the first question you have is similarities and differences. The only way you could fill 15 hours with that is if you where giving the presentation directly to sony or microsoft and you where foxcon or some major fab.
For helping you help yourself you should just give me the best answer points LOL
Back to the question though one of the first things I can point out is that the PS3 did something revolutionary and amazing and totally against logic and the natural flow.
They stepped back and said that a normal processor was not what they wanted and piratically paid to have an almost unused technology designed and scaled to them. The cell processor. They did not invent it but might as well have. It was jointly developed by Sony, Toshiba, and IBM Sony being the least intellectual contributor but the only reason the technology was being developed which is why they get the credit.
That is the most resounding difference and it is what truly makes the PS3 different than any consumer computer product there is.
Besides that it has Blu-Ray which quite possibly is the reason Blu-Ray won the HD vs Blu-Ray war. Neither product was leaps and bounds better than the other and both had ups and downs. But everyone who already had a PS3 to play games also owned a Blu-Ray player by default. Before HD-DVD died there where more PS3s in home than HD-DVD players period. Then add what stand alone Blu-Ray players people already bought and that was the end.
The Blu-Ray has much more storage which greatly shapes the content developers can put onto the disc. When developing for a Sony game you can basically just not worry at all about the space. When developing for XBOX360 you may have reduce the quality of sounds, cut-scenes, and other things or remove features all together.
The Sony should have been a more capable machine than the XBOX360 but this is where having a cell processor and other non standard things becomes an issue. It is easier to develop for XBOX360 so when you see a head to head comparison of 1 game on both systems they are very similar with XBOX360 edging past PS3 just as often as PS3 edges past XBOX360. This shouldn't have happened. On paper the PS3 is a better machine.
There are tons of other differences. By creating a XBOX360 core xbox put themselves in a poor position where developers could not expect access to a HD for cache or game installs where PS3s all have HDs so this is not a problem. Developers on XBOX360 had to choose between 3 options. Create the engine for the Core system and loose some performance, develop it for the HD system and make it incompatible with the core system or write 2 engines one for each setup and make your game and its content compatible with either. Most went with the core option back in the day. Now that is a lil different of a situation.
Also the xbox360 did not launch with wifi the ps3 did.
PS3 has bluetooth allowing for bluetooth accessories including headsets, keyboards, etc
The PS3 has no IR receiver making it difficult to implement into a high end theater system. Later 3rd parties created special hardware to overcome this issue but at a cost.
PS3 did not launch with vibration because of battery life issues.
XBOX360 has removable batteries that can be rechargeable pack, rechargeable AA or throw away AA.
The XBOX360 wired controller is directly compatible with the PC with no adapter.
At first PS3 required dedicated hardware to be backwards compatible with PS2/PS1 games. There was basically a section of a PS2 inside the original Phat PS3 60GB the lower end model did not have this and could not play all ps2/ps1 titles until a emulation software package was created.
tons more but not sure if this stuff is even helping
