Arkansas supposedly already in talks with Charlie Strong?

I have talked to two sources in the past 24 hours who have told me there is a lot of back channel negotiations between Arkansas Alumni and Charlie Strong at the moment. It appears the Razorbacks could offer as much as $4M per year. I am told Strong is very interested in making this move for a number of reasons. It appears the future of the Big East will be the main reason for making a move. Currently there are no guarantees Louisville will make a move to the Big 12 and the Big East will likely lose their BCS bid in the future. Remember, Strong is a native of Arkansas and played college football at Central Arkansas.

Do you think this would be a good hire?

No, and sadly it's because he's black. It won't hold up in the Southeast. Not sure why, but it won't. Black coordinators and assistants are one thing--black head coaches are another.

However, it doesn't matter. Arkansas cannot recruit talent. That's the problem with the team. It has no talent, no recruiting base. Florida, Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Georgia, etc. get all the talent. Arkansas is that redheaded stepchild that scoops up whatever scraps these teams leave behind.

I think it would be a great hire for Arkansas. He has experience in the SEC (as a coordinator for UF) and hes done a pretty good job with UL.
