Do I have to go to court if I don't want the points for a ticket?

I got a ticket for doing 5 over but don't want the points because my insurance will go up. So, do I have to go to court to avoid the points and just pay the fine? If I pay the fine by mail and don't go to court, does that mean I automatically get the points?

Usually taking a class will get rid of the points . You have to ask in court .

yes...a conviction for speeding has points.

pleading guilty to speeding, means you are convicted of speeding.

plead not guilty and try to get a reduced charge by the officer or attorney handling the case.

my town uses attorneys at all the courts to plea down the officer's tickets. ask for a reduction with no points
