Why does my hide inactive icons button disappear?
I have a Windows Vista, and it has been serving me well for a while now. However, recently, sometimes it starts with the hide icons button missing from the taskbar. I have no idea what causes this, and the advice I sought are more towards Windows XP than Vista. The remedy of resetting the computer works, but it's annoying if this is something I have to do every single day now.
What I want to know is what causes the hide inactive icons button to disappear when the computer starts up, and what I can do to stop it from happening. One additional info is that I did a full scan of it, and I haven't found a virus in it, so it might not be a virus causing it.

When programs are running , and THOSE programs have been set to show the icon there , then they will show. When there is no room in that area, they are put in a hidden area above it, & a button appears to access them.
If those programs are not running , then there will be no icon, so then there is nothing in a hidden area.
SO , No button.
Put your mouse cursor OVER the Timeclock & Right Click it.
Now choose "Customize notification icons".
This page shows ALL of the icons that you can set to show there or hide completely .
