  • Did I short out my outlet by turning on my deep fryer and my foreman grill at the same time?

I turned on both my deep fryer and my foreman grill at the same time and a while later, the outlet no longer works. I'm not sure if it's because I'm using two appliances at once or if the outlet was old and wiggly.

  • How do I find out what triggers I have?

I've heard a discussion recently about how to best deal with triggers, and it made me curious if I have any triggers to worry about. Is it as simple as putting info in a litmus test and see what the results are or is it complex and needs a bit of mental digging to find out what triggers I have? How would the best way of finding triggers be?

  • How am I able to add new songs onto my iPod Touch from my new computer without wiping out my songs?

Before you say "You can't.", I know there are some methods out there, so that's already false.

My computer died and a new one is being built. The problem I face is my iPod. I have added songs I've made myself onto the iPod directly without putting it in my iTunes library, and I fear that by putting the iPod onto my new computer, it will wipe out everything in my iPod. My question is how do I add new songs onto my iPod without having to wipe the iPod itself.

I know there's third-party programs that can help as well as the method of using Windows' Reveal hidden folders feature (So yes, I am using Windows), but I worry the methods are old. Is there a way to do it that still works today?

  • Can I clean my computer of dust without taking it apart?

I'm suspecting that my computer has accumulated a bunch of dust and I want to clean it to prevent any mishaps, though I'm worried about taking it apart. Is there a way I can get the dust out, or at least most of it, without having to take it apart?

My computer is the desktop kind with a tower and has a few openings in the back which I assume are where the fans are.

  • How do I get Youtube Videos to load all the way?

It annoys me to a degree, as sometimes Youtube just loads their videos to a certain point, not all the way (though it does load all the way when I play it, so it's no real problem). Okay, that doesn't annoy me as much, but what DOES annoy me is that, when I click back on the video and go back to a certain part, suddenly, all the loaded video just drops and has to reload again.

How do I fix this? I cleared my Cache so many times, cleared my cookies once (though cookies I gained in the past hour), and nothing happened. Nothing was fixed. At this point, it's just random, and I really want to have some damn control over this situation.

  • Why does my hide inactive icons button disappear?

I have a Windows Vista, and it has been serving me well for a while now. However, recently, sometimes it starts with the hide icons button missing from the taskbar. I have no idea what causes this, and the advice I sought are more towards Windows XP than Vista. The remedy of resetting the computer works, but it's annoying if this is something I have to do every single day now.

What I want to know is what causes the hide inactive icons button to disappear when the computer starts up, and what I can do to stop it from happening. One additional info is that I did a full scan of it, and I haven't found a virus in it, so it might not be a virus causing it.

  • How do people pay for over $1,000 dollars in crowdfunding websites?

I am a big fan of crowdfunding websites, though I am interested in the videos for each campaign and the perks they promise. Though this has been bugging me for a long while: There are perks that people have to pay over a thousand dollars for.

My question is that how is it possible for someone to pay over $1,000 dollars when it comes to crowdfunding. I'm sure it's something like with buying a car, you pay it in sequences, but I want to know how it works.

  • Is stdrt.exe a virus?

Not long ago, I downloaded Knytt Stories and booted it up. I had task manager up at the time, and I noticed that when I activate the game, it turns on two processes: the name of the game, and stdrt.exe. I googled it to see just what is up with that, and more importantly, to see if it's a virus. People say it is, but scanning both the Knytt Stories folder and using Malwarebytes quick scan showed no such virus. It helps that whenever I close Knytt Stories, stdrt.exe gets closed off too. I also downloaded this game straight from the source, so that further raises doubts about it being a virus.

So is it a virus? A false positive? Just paranoia?

  • How do I get rid of win32 malware-gen?

Last night I got a virus where my Avast notices that 8 temporary files have the same virus (Win32 Malware-gen) and it's more annoying than threatening, as it takes a while for this to stop (five-ten minutes tops) but once it does, nothing really is different. I've ran Malwarebytes a few times and one time it removed two infected files only for it to start over again. Tried system restore but surprise, it comes back.So how do I get rid of this?

  • How do I get rid of this virus?

Avast is telling me that I have a number of viruses in my "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp" file, and I tried to remove them but every time I reset, it happens again and again. I also tried Malwarebytes (quick scan) but it did no good. How do I get rid of it?

  • Is my computer still functioning good?

Today, I was on my computer, and it crashed (I assume it's a RAM overload) and it reset, it was stuck at this part during the bootup where there's a blinking "_" on the upper left corner. I force reset and it started up as normal. When I reset the next two times (both just to make sure nothing fishy was up) I noticed that after it showed the "HP" logo and right before it showed the status bar loading up (It lacks the Windows Vista logo but I didn't mind), there was no blinking "_". Is this a bad thing? A good thing? Should I panic?

  • Why do ghosts in Japanese works lick stuff?

I've noticed in some Japanese works, ghosts tend to lick stuff like licking people. I wondered why is that? Is it something rooted in Japanese Mythology or Religion? Why do they lick?

  • Is Rogers lying about how much bandwidth I use or is it something else?

I've been keeping track about how much bandwidth I use with a program (NetWorx) and noticed that yesterday, I used up about 1.54 gigabytes. When I checked Rogers, it said that I used about 1.78. I don't know what's going on. So I assume either...

Rogers is lying about how much bandwidth I am using...

Networx isn't synced very well (I installed it in the middle of Monday)...

Rogers is gauging bandwidth from another day...

Networx is only gauging how much I use up (other people use the internet)...

    What do you think happened?

  • Why can't I open anything on Hotmail?

I've hit a huge problem that I tried everything to fix. I am using a Firefox browser. I can't seem to open up anything on Hotmail. I've tried to search for an answer on Google, but nothing seems to work.

I've tried clearing my cookies and cache, disabling Adblocker on Hotmail, installing the newest Java update, opening up the calender. Nothing seems to work.

  • What is adf.ly/2zqCE?

Not too long ago, someone answered a question of mine with this odd code "adf.ly/2zqCE" that I think I have to put in the HTTP box. A quick Google Search and it's been used so many times. I fear that it's something malicious, but I don't know. Can someone tell me what it does?

  • Are there sites that have people talking about how they love Rogers?

I have encountered a few sites that have people ranting about how much they hate Rogers (the cable company) and I was wondering if there's a site for people to gush or talk about loving Rogers.

I'm pretty sure there is but my Google Fu is weak.

I was contracted with the (no subject) virus on Hotmail a few days ago and I was just thinking if it just sends emails. Mostly because I think it also deletes email I have in my inbox.

  • Is my keyboard broke or is it just the batteries?

I have a Logitech Keyboard, a wireless one in fact. However, as of now, it keeps skipping over letters I type from time to time, promoting me to type it twice. I am wondering if it's broke or if it's just the batteries. Or maybe it's something completely different.
