Military - Enlisting...but engaged?
I'm enlisting in the Air Force and am supposed to leave in a few months but my boyfriend has proposed. I have a college degree (not choosing the officer route) and he has a stable job that pays well and travels constantly overseas. He asked me if there is any way I can get out of my DEP contract. We have to be married for me to move overseas with him and I would definitely prefer it than a 6yr contract of completely being separated. Can I legally separate from the military?
ive heard it's possible but they try to say it isn't? my father recently had a heart attack so we've turned into full fledge family mode. my family also lives overseas so the idea of being separated for so long has changed when i was not thinking of marriage and everyone was healthy.

Yes and the government has always had the duty to stop an attack in progress but they do not have the right to take out a "suspected" terrorist not engaged in an attack if they are a US citizen. They should be arrested, not taken out by a drone. They have the right to a trial.

Are you asking if you HAVE to go to basic training? No. You don't. You do not belong to the military until you board the plane/bus and arrive at your base to basic training.
That's what I was told when leaving to the Army.
