I know there are single parents in the military and they can stay in as long as they complete a detailed Family Care Plan. My question is, as an E-3 in the Air Force. Can I move out of the dorms and adopt a child?

I am hoping to adopt in the near future. I would be adopting as a single parent who works in the military. I have amazing parents who would be the emergency caretakers since the military does require a lot of planning for single parents. My questions is, I am currently 25. Due to rank I do live in single, enlisted housing. When/how would i move to a normal house/apartment before adopting a child. *the military requires either rank/marriage to live out of their enlisted living quarters...do I tell my boss my adoption plan?

If you had a choice, son or daughter? Why?

If you guys have any suggestions for middle names they are more than welcome! we really look for names that aren't too everyday so not Sarah but not too crazy like Sparkle --- yes I know someone who named their child that :/

I'm enlisting in the Air Force and am supposed to leave in a few months but my boyfriend has proposed. I have a college degree (not choosing the officer route) and he has a stable job that pays well and travels constantly overseas. He asked me if there is any way I can get out of my DEP contract. We have to be married for me to move overseas with him and I would definitely prefer it than a 6yr contract of completely being separated. Can I legally separate from the military?
