2003 S-10 turn signals work great until lights are on then right side blinks real rapid checked all grounds and all bulbs are new and work. if parking lights or headlights come on (daytime running lights) or if turned on manually then right one blinks way to fast. I will vote thank you if you need more info ask and I will add to details

I think you still have a problem with a ground but not the ground on the turn signal side but on the headlight or tail light side. I'm thinking that the headlight or tail light is picking up a ground through the turn signal bulb. With the headlights on unplug the bulbs for the right side turn signals. If I'm right one of the parking lights or headlights will dim or go out.

This is certainly an earth (USA call it "ground") fault. One of the lamps is not earthing properly and is using the side or tail light as an earth return path. This used to be very common on Ford cars in the 1970s and 1980s.

You must remove the light cluster covers and indicator bulbs on the right hand side and very carefully check the earthing wires and screws on each assembly and the bonding to the car body shell. It's usually a corroded or loose wire connection. One of the sockets may even be corroded so that the bulb is unable to make a good earth contact. It may help you if you buy a Haynes Manual for your car (about £23).

This is a tedious and time consuming job but it's worth doing especially as winter is approaching. You want to be safe as well as avoiding being pulled over by the police (who will make you fix it anyway). A garage will charge about 60 to 90 minutes labour to fix it unless the fault is well known to the mechanic. Then you'll be lucky and pay about 30 minutes labour.

Have you replaced a bulb recently on the right side? Check that the bulbs are the right ones (they will have a number like 1057 on them). A different bulb can fit in the same socket but will have different resistance values and can cause strange things.

    Good luck!

One directional signal lost ground, the black wire.

When the lights are off it can find ground backwards through another larger bulb.

have you ever latterly replaced any of your gentle bulbs? it would desire to be a incorrect length bulb or a demonstration which you have a foul bulb someplace maximum probable a brake gentle. And if all that looks stable each each now and then via changing the flasher it would desire to unravel your issues "sticky contacts".

lot of good answers there, but i think you'll find that the other RH bulb went out as well, or is not in socket good. the answer about resistance also holds a good amount of water. improper resistance can do strange things electrically speaking.

First replace the flasher unit under your dash. http://www.autozone.com/ may show the directional light flasher unit location.
