What do you think about paintable wallpaper?

would you use it as an alternative to dealing with peeling paint?

Maybe, but probably not. Would have to research a bit to decide. Isn't the point of wall paper that you don't have to paint? When the paintable wall paper begins to peel, then you still have the same problem, only you also have a mess with trying to remove wallpaper before you paint the next time. I think I would do the best prep work I could possibly do before painting, and buy the best paint I could, and paint without paper...but I would check it out to be sure before proceding.

Paintable wallpaper is good but you have to be aware about the colour and texture of your wall.

I've used it several times, once even on a ceiling. It stays in plays as long as you 'size' the wall (or ceiling) and apply the glue and paper properly.

It's garbage. There's no substitute for actually painting directly onto a sound, well-primed wall.

Not me. Strangely, I just painted a hallway today. The color was 'Pixie Dust'. Sort of a light pinkish color.

  • I haven't used it but I do know a couple of people who have and they had nothing but problems with it.

I don't like it -it bubbled & I ended up removing it all & painting.
