How are the carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism tied together?

What is the significance of this?

I am having a difficult time with my Chemistry homework, can't find this answer anywhere in my text and getting frustrated.

    Carbohydrate, fat and protein all are degraded to yield acetyl-coA which enters the TCA (Tri-carboxylic acid) Cycle.

    Carbohydrate ----> glycolysis ---->pyruvate---->Electron transport chain--->Acetyl-coA.

    Fat/Lipid--> Beta-oxidation-->acyl-coA-->Acetyl-coA.

    Protein-->Amino acids-->Transamination/deamination-->

    Keto-acids---->acetyl-coA.

    Acetyl-coA------>TCA cycle----> CO2 + H2O.
