I have a few solutions that we use on dogs that have been skunked and rolled in dead animals

Tomato juice is not one of them

1)tea tree oil plus eucalyptus oil--a few drops of each in some shampoo

2) (and this works the best-even on skunked dogs) Crest Toothpaste, not the gel. Mix it thoroughly in WARM water. It is difficult to mix. Shampoo the dog with this, (a whole tube on a large dog, 1/2 on a small to med dog).. Lather up and leave on for about 5 min. (it will clear up your sinuses at the same time) then rinse, rinse, rinse, then rinse again. Go through the coat to make sure it is all rinsed out.

3) baking soda mixed with the shampoo

4) rub baking soda into the dogs coat (while in the tub) leave for 5- min then shampoo

My mom had me wash absolutely one of our canines that had a useless scent on it in tomato juice with some lemon juice then cleansing soap.
