How to save for a car?

Hi everyone,

I just turned 15, and I am saving money for a car. I would like to have it in 9 months. I am looking at a price range of 4000-5000 dollars, my parents are splitting the cost with me. How can I save enough money for a car in this time period? I make money babysitting, but I am looking to increase how much I babysit. How can I do this? I have a fixed cost of $45 a month, too, which can not go away. Thanks for your help!

Update:

Since my price range for the car is 4000-5000 I need 2000-2500.

Obviously you can try to get a job and hope that 9 months of pay will be enough to cover it. However, since you're probably in school, it would be much more difficult with homework and such.

Ask your parents if you can pay off your car incrementally in monthly payments or something. Obviously $45 a month won't cut it for them, so find some sort of other part-time job or ask your neighbors/friends if they need a babysitter. Use some of your savings, if you have any. Maybe some kids need a math tutor or something. Many small jobs can add up in 9 months!

I used this site to put a down payment on a car, you just have to fill out forms 30 cents a piece and you can make alot in a month.

You can look for work or ask for extra chores for money
