Recommendations for pet deodoriser or neutraliser?

My ferrets are just hitting maturity and they stiiink. Obviously i clean them every day, sometimes twice but i think it's just them. I have seen things such as candles or sprays but not sure if they work. Any tried and tested recommendations? Thanks

Ferrets naturally just have a smell to them. But some are definitely worse than others.

For the most part, sprays and things just add another smell to the air. You need to be a little careful of how much, and what, you put in the air, so you don't harm your fuzzies.

I use Marshall Bi-Odor. It is a liquid, you add to the drinking water.

"Deodorizes ferret's stool, urine, and body odors! Simply add to your ferret's water daily. Use for a naturally odor free pet!" I got it on Amazon.

I think it works quite well. I don't think it takes 100% of the smell away, but it really does take most of it away. Maybe I'm weird, but sometimes I like to get a light whiff of my little guy. Esp. right after a bath.

It does make the water bowl feel slimy, so you really do have to change the water, and clean the dish often.

My bottle is just about empty, so I checked my local Petco for it. Hoping to get it cheaper and not have to wait for shipping. The product they had is also made by Marshall, but is called Goodbye Odor. "Helps reduce body and waste odors" is what the bottle says. I haven't tried it yet. But am hoping / assuming it is the same thing, or very similar.

Do you have a bin of rice for them to play and burrow in? The rice helps with the oils on their coats, which can help with the smell too. DO NOT USE INSTANT RICE! Instant rice can harm ferrets. Use a storage bin or something large, and with high sides, or else you'll have rice everywhere! Except where it should be, that is! LOL

The one I have is kind of transparent white. I like it cuz I can watch my ferret play. Afterward, if I want to, I can put the lid on and store it. -Since my ferret doesn't live in a cage, I leave the rice out, and open all the time, so he can get in it.

Hopefully you'll find something that helps.

Best of luck to you, and yours!♥

    .... ENJOY!
