Would you be opposed to a flat tax?

I mean, everybody (dem or con, rich or poor) pays the same PERCENTAGE.

Wouldn't that work for liberals, cause the rich are still paying more.

Yes indeed. Middle class and lower middle class must buy food, clothing, TV sets and cars and just about everything else that rich people do. The disparity in the price ranges of these items is negligible compared to income taxes.

Yes, that is too simple. What is the relevence of the same percentage when as you point out, everybody will pay different depending on their income. How hard is to look the back of the tax booklet, look up your income and find your tax rate.

If you buy a candy bar or a toy at walmart the markup is probably at least 200%, but if you buy a home there is basically no markup, it is whatever the market determines the flat price.

Flat rate percentages don't apply in the market place why should it apply for taxes.

Tax rates are usually adjusted depending the amount of disposable income people have for nonessential items. If you are spending almost all of your money on mortgage, utilities and food and clothing for your children you should be paying very low income taxes.

If you take home 10 million dollars exploiting the working class you should be paying a lot more back or at least have a high rate, but get deductions for reinvesting money back into the business and actually creating jobs.

    No.

Any percentage is a much bigger burden on the poor than on the rich.

If the flat tax is 10%, it's a lot harder for a family making $20,000 to come up with $2,000 than for a family making $20,000,000 to come up with $2,000,000

That be the best tax but you will never see it The Fed like it the way it is if you had a flat tax you would have no use for the IRS The IRS are the ones who do the dirty work for the bankers
