You are acting as if Huntington Beach is Australia or something. It's not that far away at all! You two can easily find ways to see each other. Take the Amtrak or a Greyhound bus over to HB. In fact, there are many alternatives for you going there or him getting to you for a visit.

(more from Arrowhead to HB vs. the other way around). Look on Craig's List in the "commuting" section and see if anyone is driving from Arrowhead to HB/San Diego. etc..and you can chip in for gas. Lots of people do that when they commute. Believe me..I KNOW this. I was commuting from Palm Desert to West LA every other day and it was so much easier and better to find others who had to commute with me. They would chip in for gas (and sometimes help with driving). LOTS of people make that commute.

There's no reason why you two can't stay connected on the phone, with Skype, texting or sending emails and every so often, a weekend trip would be more than possible.

My bf and I commuted in to see each other for over 8 months when we first got together..but I was in Switzerland at the time and he was in London! That's FAR! Sometimes we would meet halfway and stay somewhere..which is what the two of you could do. The half-way point would be somewhere around Del Amo Mall in Manhattan Beach..make a day of it. Go to the movies..walk around the mall..have fun..go to the beach, etc.

He could come visit you in Arrowhead and he would likely love it..especially when it's all snowy and beautiful.

Last but not least (and I feel I HAVE to mention) that the age difference is a big deal. He's in college and you are a freshman in high school..? If the two of you are platonic friends..that's fine but mourning the loss of this OLDER guy, who is in COLLEGE and you are newly in high school is a road to nowhere (romantically speaking that is) I'm not saying that you two couldn't couple up in the future but you are considered a minor and any thought about the two of you being a couple and in a romantic relationship have to be nipped right now. I'm really sorry to tell you that but it's true.

You claim to miss him so much and obviously care for him a great deal. But what if he was arrested for being with you..? Do you realise that if anything happened between the two of you, he would be arrested for statutory rape or lewd acts with a minor, etc..? Those are all really serious charges and if convicted, he would be an official "sex offender" for the rest of his life. He would receive a mandatory jail sentence of years in jail = you don't want that..right? That may be why he isn't showing any interest in getting together with you because you are too young for him.

If he thinks you are IN LOVE with him, he may be avoiding you. Ever hear: "Fifteen will get you twenty"..? It means that an adult man (men who are 18, 19, 20, 21 and above) can be tried as an adult in a court of law. If caught/arrested for having intimate contact with a minor (anyone younger than 18 yrs old) they will receive a harsh jail sentence. If an adult is with a 15 yr old girl..he will receive a 20 yr jail sentence

Your "best friend" has to stay a friend. nothing romantic at all. Keep this as friends only and maybe he will make himself available to see you..or agree to talking more on the phone, etc.
