is having a credit card from a shopping store considered safe?

so i have a credit card from express, i feel like this is safe cause i'm limited to what i can buy cause they're clothes, and not appliances, tv's, video games, they're just clothes. they're expensive as hell but still mainly clothing, i'm not making as much money as i would hope, but ill maybe buy something that's on sale every once in a while, and pay if off online when i get my pay check, which is every 2 weeks...because i have a credit card from a shopping store, will it take longer for me to build up my credit, or does is it based off how much i spend and how fast i pay if off?? or should i get a credit card from my bank...what do you think?

Whether you have a dept store charge or a major credit card, in most cases it should be safe. I have 1 major credit because i can use it almost anywhere and in of emergencies you can get cash from a ATM machine.
