Should the Lakers bring back Derek Fisher?
He has been working out with the Lakers recently, though he can't be resigned by them until March. I believe that Fisher can be effective in a mentoring role as a 3rd string PG, who can come in emergency for clutch situations. He is clearly not a starter anymore, and should not be used for more than 10-15 minutes. But he still hit some clutch shots for OKC. The only problem is that the Lakers have Blake, Duhon, Morris, and Goudelock all at the PG position already, and adding Fish makes them even older.
I didn't mention Nash because I am talking about backup PGs on the Lakers

I don't like the idea much. The reason Fisher was traded was because he wasn't happy coming off the bench and you want to make him a ''3rd string PG'' this won't work.

Ye I as a lakers fan since I was little I would Love to see D-Fish back in Purple n Gold but it seems possible still they might sign him just to keep on the bench and win another ring then retire as a Laker after this season and provides great guidance to the younger Point Guards along with nash, kobe will be thrilled to have him back plus Fisher is one of the most respected players in the league and can give important speeches during time outs and in the locker room like he did for OKC. However after his playing days are done I would like to see him as an assistant coach or maybe even head coach for the lakers

At this point in time - I rather have Chris Duhon coming off of the bench. No, point at getting older at that position.
Fisher is best at the end of games, but you can't play both him and Nash when the game is on the line. That would be much too much of a liability on the defensive end. Nash now has Fisher's old role.

Sure, why not. They've already added two over the hill veterans in Steve Nash and Antawn Jamison. Why not a third? Who cares if two thirds their team is over 30?
Seriously you have 4 thirty somethings in the starting lineup. Nash, Kobe, Metta World Artest, and Pau Gasol. Off the bench you have Jamison, Blake, and Chris Duhon.
This is a great lineup to have-six years ago. Today not so much.

David Stern should hire Fish as the next NBA commissioner. Fisher is a class act guy. Much loved by everyone and every team he ever played for. And on top of that he's considered one of the smarter NBA players.

i think of he could help them seeing as how they have not got any sturdy PG to assist out Kobe, yet Derek Fisher is maximum probable going to retire because of the fact of his daughter's maximum cancers. he's a fighter and he performs not common, and that could particularly compliment Kobe and Odom (if he remains). yet he won't win them a championship. They nevertheless want a sturdy enormous guy.
