Painful bowel movements?

I am almost 10 weeks pregnant and when I go to the bathroom it burns my butt really bad and then when I wipe there's a little bleeding. Nothing bad when I pee it's just when I do the other. Now I dread doing it, sorry for tmi.

Unfortunately, pregnancy hormones can cause constipation and hemorrhoids. I would go to the doctor to get checked out to see that you aren't bleeding inside your colon, but the only thing that will help is a stool softener (Milk of Magnesia or Colace is safe in pregnancy), upping the fibre in your diet significantly and drinking plenty of water. Don't take laxatives! They can cause uterine contractions or dehydrate you. You could also try cutting out your prenatal vitamin for a day or three. The iron in it can cause constipation. Don't stop taking it though, unless your doctor okays it. They might vanish after pregnancy, but some unlucky women (like me), keep suffering for long after the baby is born.

Good luck! I hope you have a happy and healthy nine months.

when my wife was pregnant she had a similar problem, we went to the local gp, and discovered she had a urine infection. I would suggest you to have it checked out as soon as you get a chance.
