Except on very small instruments, I wouldn't use them. They function different from other tuners. Normal fine teachers hold the ball end in a forked hook, the hook has a lever that goes under the tailpiece and the tuner screw pushes down on the lever. This stretchs the string from the ball and keeps the string straight. Suzuki tuners just hole the string taught without stretching from the end, and the screw pushed directly on the string, bending the string at the screw. This is very hard on the strings. Although it you are just going to be using one tuner on the "E" string, that isn't so bad as the string is thin and if you use the plain steel vs. a wrapped "E" it should be ok. The best fine tuners are the ones that are built into the tailpiece, like the Wittner Ultra.
