Can I take my contact lenses off and put them back on without soaking them for six hours?
For instance, I'd like to take them off when I get back home from three and when I'm going outside at 6, I'd like to put them back on. Is this okay or would that be damaging for my eye's health?
Thanks!
It seems like I haven't made myself clear:
I would like to take them off and soak them for less than six hours and put them back on.
I thought taking off and putting them back on implied that I would be soaking them because that's an obvious procedure: once you take them off, you are expected to soak them. Just that I would like to soak for about 3 hours and put them back on.

well first of all wash your hands, thats very important! then, put some eye drops in your eye to make them wet, you might also want to try to clean the lenses if u have trouble putting them in, because the wetness will make it easier for them to stick. if your a rightie, put the contact on your index finger, and hold the bottom eyelid down with the middle finger, and with your left hand hold the top eyelid up, but make sure u grab your eyelashes as u do that, if not then they might get in the way, and if your a leftie, then do everything opposite. look up and place the contact on your eye and when it sticks, try not to blink right away! most of the time blinking right away will make the contact slide back out, so keep holding your eyes open, and look around until u feel like the contact is stuck on your eye. then close your eyes and gently press your eyelid to make it stick better. once u open your eyes, if u still feel a slight discomfort from the contacts, put in a couple more eyesdrops. try this and be patient! good luck...oh and there are also cases when u have to get a specific size contact for your eyes, because the standard size doesnt fit u, but that isn't too common but if that your case, your eye doctor should measure your eye to see...

I would suggest not doing that. Read the solution. Follow the directions carefully. Wash your hands, rub a few drops of solution and rub the contact, rinse it with more solution and then put in a clean container of fresh solution. Do that to each contact (if using an all in one solution like B&L brand). Wear glasses whenever you can and try to keep the lenses as clean as possible. If you really need to put them back on it probably won't hurt you, but isn't the best idea for the health of your eyes.

Yes, you can. Just be sure to always put them in a CLEAN contact lens case with new solution each time. Never "top-off" old solution. When you take your contacts out for good at the end of the night before you go to bed, be sure to (with clean hands) rub and rinse your contacts in solution before soaking them over-night for 6 hours.

I do this all the time with the blessing of my optician. Provided you have multipurpose solution its not a problem You just have to make suer that you clean and soak them for 6 hours somewhere in teh 24 hour period.

Well if you don't soak them in the solution , then then will dry and shrink up.
