    There is no "scientific name" for fall. "fall" and "autumn" are both correct.

    The DATE when the sun crosses the "Celestial equator" on its way souht is called the Autumnal Equinox -- which is today. But that last for only a moment, and defines when "autumn" starts.

    There is no scientific name for any of the seasons.

    But "autumn" is considered the more accurate term for the season (though fall is more commonly used).

    Of course, if you need information *now*, searching online is a lot faster than asking in Yahoo and waiting for answers.
