Are you ready for fall/winter?
Though I'm gonna miss going to the beach and surfing all day, I can't wait until the air gets crisp and the leaves start to change. I love the months of November and December because of the Christmas season!! I can't wait...baking cookies with my dad...shopping for gifts with my sisters....writing Happy Christmas cards to family and friends...wrapping gifts....family meals, cornbread, pumkin pie, stuffing....frost on the grass(it hardly snows where I live:() ....making decorations with my best friends....seeing little kids bundled up in winter jackets...ice skating....oh it's a great time of year coming up!! What are your favorite things about the season?? :D

Yes I'm definitely looking forward to this season! (I'm not really a summer sort of person.) It just feels like one big build up to Christmas, which is always the happiest and warmest time of year.
I'm looking forward to the darker evenings and the winter chill because when you come home it's so much more cosy and warm and you can sit down with a warm drink with your slippers and dressing gown, and getting home is so much better. And no matter how old you are, the best thing to do is to get home and stick on a Christmas film! I'm also looking forward to the hustle and bustle of christmas shoppers and actually hearing christmas songs in shops (though this won't start til late November) as well as seeing those Christmas lights on houses (there's always one person who puts them up ridiculously early!) Also they have the best TV shows on this time of year! Though I quite like the autumn (fall) I want it to hurry up out of the way (not much of a Halloween sort of person!) so that the winter can take over. Still, I like watching the leaves fall off and change colour, and watching them swirl around in the street as you walk to school/work. It makes it better when there's a slight wind and a bit of a breeze in the air! The only problem with the autumn/fall season is that it tends to rain quite a bit (imagine what it's like living in England when this happens!) but still, it's not so bad. And hey, we all like putting on our nice warm coats and getting on our way, and it's nice to be able to do so without sweat dripping down your forehead. Like I always say, in the summer there's only so much you can do to cool off, but in the winter you can do all sorts of things to keep warm, with the added bonus of not getting all sweaty! I just hope that we get snow around November/December because when it snows here it's usually too late (January/February.) I think I saw a white Christmas once, so I would love to see another one.
Anyhow, I hope you have a wonderful fall/winter season wherever you are!

Not really. I'm a summer person. It rains incessantly during the winter around here. I spent yesterday sunbathing on our dock, it got up to 85. Took my top off to avoid the tan lines, read part of the Canterbury Tales (I'm taking English Lit this semester). It'll probably be the last time until next spring. Spent part of it talking to graduate Microbiology Student from NC State, he was there getting water samples for some micorbiotic study of areas around nuclear plants (there is a nuclear power plant close by). I'm always glad to have somebody to talk to even if it was awkward with me lying there on my side with my top off, my head propped up on one hand and the other covering the merchandise. He was nice, polite, reasonably attractive, he stayed in his boat. We talked for maybe half an hour. I told him if and when he came back to the lake to look me up. The Geosurvey eqpt on the boat told him exactly where he was +/- a foot as he says so he knows where to find me.
