Should corn on the cob be cut in half before or after cooking?

and, does cutting it prior to cooking change the cooking process?

    It doesn't matter, but I like to cut them first as I like to present really hot chicken and it cools too rapidly doing after.

    It depends on the sharpness and size of your knife, and after cooking may be easier.

    Better to cut after. Like a roast, you let it cool for a while and then cut. I think it keeps the flavor in. But if you want it to cook faster, cutting into little pieces speeds up cooking.

    I don't cut it, I break it so I don't destroy any of the kernels. This is much easier accomplished before cooking, because after cooking it is too hot to handle.

    LOL! Of course no longer just go ahead and reduce them off with a knife. If you do boil it you will need to wait except it's bloodless sufficient to control and that will make an effort. SO if you happen to neeed it proper away you must just go forward and cut it off.

    I cut mine before cooking. Fits in the pot easier.

    In my family we cut it after because it gets soggy if you cut it before
