Used Aquarium pricing opinions and valuation help?
I am cleaning out storage and have tons of tanks I need to sell. I am looking for opinions on asking price, and if I should sell the lights separate since they are nicer lighting than normal.
I have an 80 gallon high aquarium and oak stand, glass. with matching hood.
55 gallon with black stand (I think it is pine). Glass lid.
50 gallon with oak stand, glass.
I also have a fluval, rena fillstar, eheim, and cascade canister filters.
I also have three 48" Coralife Compact Fluorescent Lights (Brand new is like $350-$400).
So, any opinions on value? Should I combine the light and filter with the tanks for a "complete setup" or do you think I'll make more in just the tank/stand and lights/filter separate?
I'm struggling most on the 80 gallon tall as it isn't a super common tank dimension (4 feet long, 30 inches tall) and is pretty thick glass.
All are like new. No damage at all, crystal clear.
Alec, thanks. Someone who knows real number ;) as you are closer to what I was accustomed to in resale tanks. I've sold 55 gallons with stands usually between $150 and $250, depending on condition, if I had the hood, light, etc.
I'm really unsure about the 80 tall and the lights. Think half of new on the lights? New bulbs are about $20 - $30+/-. Sometimes they are on sale, sometimes not.
Think $300 for a 55 complete with the nice lights is a good deal and will sell? Or should I just do no light and $150, or use a normal strip light to up the deal?
I was thinking $200 to $300 on the 80 and stand...but wasn't sure...

Way more than the other answer said. The 80 gallon with stand and hood alone if it is in "like new" condition I would start around 300 dollars. 55 is pretty common, but still around 100 for just the tank stand and lid. Same for the 50. Half of the price of new lights is the bulbs, so how are the bulbs on the light? The filters you could sell alone and get 50-100 dollars depending on which ones they are. I think people like buying them as a complete setup more than just the tank and stand, but its up to you how you want to do it... Unless you are in a hurry to sell them just start high and lower it as time passes if no one is interested.

For a used tank, if you have them in good condition, especially with a stand, you can sell them for a decent price. A simple tank brand new can sell for over 50 dollars, and that would be like a 5 - 10 gallon with a stand. Bigger ones such as 29 - 55 gallons can cost in the hundreds. For the 80 gallon with all it comes with, I suggest pricing it at least 55 - 60 dollars. The 55 gallon, I suggest about 45 dollars. For the 50 gallon, maybe 35 - 40. Also if you sell the filters with the tanks that match properly, you can amp up the price a good deal, or you can sell them on their own for a bit extra profit. Most people such as I though, look for tanks that at least have a stand, the lid, and the hood with or without a light inside. The better the condition, the better your pricing can be. Also STOP WITH THUMBS DOWN. I HAVE BOUGHT AND SOLD PLENTY BEFORE AND KNOW MORE THAN HALF OF YA! Alec, here is a hint. When an item is used, it doesn't matter how good the condition, it is still been bought and owned before, and that automatically decreases value.
