Why is Romney losing by 23% in Massachusetts polls?

I've read articles and other information which outlined the negatives of his term as Governor but what did he do that made his Approval/Disapproval (in Massachusetts) drop to 39% Approve vs 59% disapprove and that has made him poll 23 points under Obama in Massachusetts?

Update:

Edit/Note: * That approval rating is from the last month of his term *

Update 2:

@Chuck_junior - My bad, here's a link: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/presi...

Taxachusetts (oops, I mean Massachusetts) has an axe to grind against ANY Republican. We are a one party state.

For years, the only saving grace to this state was the fact that we elected Republican governors to balance the overwhelmingly Democratic legislature. Unfortunately, after having a couple of previous governors jump ship for better appointments, Romney immediately began his first campaign for the White House in his First Term.

This was the final straw for the knee-jerk liberals in this state and the next governor they elected was a Democrat (Deval Patrick). Since then, the unwashed masses of this state have held a grudge against Romney claiming he didn't get anything done. Of course not, not with a legislature that's something like 90% Democrat. It was difficult for the previous governors to get anything done, too. The legislature does what it wants and screw the people.

To give an example, our legislature enacted a "helmet law" requiring motorcyclists to wear a helmet. The people overwhelmingly voted to repeal it. The legislature turned around and re-enacted it. Basically telling the voters "You're too stupid and we know best."

"look at how many times they elected that wing-nut Ted Kennedy to the Senate"

    EXCELLENT POINT

In the first campaign of Scott Brown, people asked why he should be elected "to Ted Kennedy's seat". His response was "It's NOT Ted Kennedy's seat, it's The People's".

This is a Prime Example of why we need Term Limits on ALL Public Offices.

It has little to do with Romney's time as governor and a lot to do with Massachusetts being among the deepest of blue states. The last time Mass went red in a presidential election was 1984, during Reagan's 49 state landslide. And even then, Reagan only won the state by less than 3%. Since then, it has gone Democratic in every election since.

i dont know are you willing to pay If you don’t have insurance, you will be required to buy it. The legislation specifies how much you will have to pay for the coverage before any subsidy kicks in. All during the campaign, Obama kept speaking about affordable coverage. Now it appears that his definition of “affordable” might be a bit elastic.

If your household income is $66,000 a year, slightly above the national average, Obama’s health care bill will require you to spend 12 percent of your income — about $8,000 a year or almost $700 a month — to buy health insurance before you get any federal subsidy.

Even those making less will have to reach deep into their meager resources to satisfy Obama’s statutory requirement. Families scraping by on only $44,0000 a year will have to pay 7 percent of their income (about $3,000) on insurance. Even those making just $33,000 will have to ante up 4.5 percent of their income (about $1,500) for health insurance.

will you pay the fine he will put on you

MA votes Dem. The last Republican to win the state was Reagan. Before that you would have to go back to the 1950's

Because the people polled in Mass were a bunch of pinhead liberals. They can't be too bright, look at how many times they elected that wing-nut Ted Kennedy to the Senate.

I don't think Massachusetts has gone for the Republican presidential candidate in over 50 years.

Because he's not even gubernatorial ... let alone presidential.

He should run for office in the Cayman Islands ... they love him there.

How did he get elected Mass. governor in the first place? ... they should have known better. He must have bought the election
