Don't listen to BarbieinTN...I have no idea what she's going on about. I know tons of people, myself included, who have had microdermals for years and years without issues.

The most common areas for people to get microdermals are on the nape (where I have mine), collar bone, between the breasts, hips, the lower back, and below the eye (much like the anti-eyebrow piercing). These are all really awesome places. Some also get microdermals on their arms or legs. Basically they can be placed anywhere.

The biggest thing you need to consider before deciding on a placement is how the microdermal will affect you. Will clothes catch on it a lot? Is it in a high-traffic area and likely to snag on something while working? Will you be able to reach your piercing and clean it properly?

In the end, it's what you feel is best for your body!

Mirco dermal: they do not relatively reject, mine not ever have and i've had 11. Except you are taking them out. The soreness is pretty fierce, no longer gonna lie. Its like a stingy stretchy soreness, but most commonly uncomfortable and lasts a couple of minutes even as they do it, the piercing takes a longish time. But it surely quite depends how they do it, some punch out skin (I've certainly not had that carried out) and others just pierce the highest layer, and stretch the hole except they are able to fit the anchor in. Floor: they are able to stay in for a at the same time, however by no means fairly heal, you would manage to hold it in, have it not hurting anymore, you then knock it and it'll reject. 2 months if you're lucky :') though my mates were in a yr, but the holes are literally inexperienced. Eurgh. The affliction isn't bad, appears like a lobe piercing :')

Don't do it! Microdermal implants were and are marketed as a more desirable alternative to surface piercings, claiming that they are 'permanent' and provide less scarring when removed. However, on average, most implants last less than a year as they are entirely susceptible to outside damaged (tugging, pulling, catching) which move the implant closer to the surface of the skin, as well as the fact that the body is designed to reject foreign objects and so it is crucial for the piercings to go as deep as possible. In order to combat these effects constant modification to the jewelry is being made, the latest utilizing large holes in the anchors to encourage tissue to grow through to hold the jewelry in place.
