Is it possible to have a heart attack without knowing?
For the past 2 or 3 days after I eat lunch my chest starts to hurt, then I get very warm to the point where I sweat a little bit. I do get cramps in my fingers, wrists, and sometimes my shoulder, but I also have carpel tunnel syndrome. I also have generalized anxiety which I know can cause chest pain as well. So my question is, can you have such a mild heart attack that you feel the symptoms but are able to go about your own business without even knowing you had a heart attack? I don't have insurance and cannot really afford a doctor's visit.

No. Heart attacks are serious and very painful. You could be suffering from gall bladder issues. If the pain is on the right side, generating to your chest, then that could be the issue. Also, it could be indigestion causing those chest pains. Of course, being a fellow anxiety sufferer, I know once those chest pings come into play, the catastrophasizing begins and it's instantly a heart attack, which scares you and leads you to more symptoms. Trust me, if you were having a heart attack, you'd know it. Extreme shortness of breath, crushing weight on your chest and extreme sweating are usually the symptoms of a heart attack. If you can still take a deep breath and you don't feel as if an elephant is sitting on your chest, then chances are, you haven't suffered a heart attack. :)

A little over 2 years ago I had the biggest heart attack you can have, the doctors call it the widow maker, because most die from it. My heart did stop for 6 minutes. I heard the doctor declare me dead. My heart had stopped but my brain was still working. Lucky for me a nurse didn't give up. My cardiologist told me that most people will have a couple smaller heart attacks before they get the big one. So the answer to your question is Yes. And with that said, it is time for you to go to the doctor or ER right now, every minute counts. My heart stopped 1 minute after the ambulance got to the hospital. The doctor told me that I would have died if I was anywhere else. So every minute counts, get to the hospital.
