Right now, it takes about 16 minutes for a transmission from Mars to reach Earth.

The time will reach a maximum of 20.5 minutes on June 4th, 2013. The minimum is 5.1 minutes on April 15, 2014.

Curiosity will not return. And Curiosity isn´t just a rover. It´s manned. The USA wants the valuable resources of Mars. Don´t be surprised when the Americans will send other rovers. They want to colonize Mars. And don´t be surprised when China launches a rocket to Mars. They want to colonize it too.

The crew of Curiosity are building massive domes filled with air, so they can live on Mars. They will commit atrocities, such as enslaving the native inhabitants of Mars. It will end in a bloody war between the USA and China, and, at the same time, a war between the Earth and the Andromeda Galaxy. The world as we know it would end. O, by the way, the first space shuttle to Mars will be launched on the 21st December. The Mayans were right.

it constantly changes, depending on the position of mars relative to earth (because they take different times to orbit the sun)

it is often in the area of 12 minutes - at the moment i think its about 7 (about 5 when they are aligned sun, earth, mars and about 20 minutes when they are aligned earth, sun, mars)
