THIS MORNING I'M THINKING ABOUT THOSE THAT HONOR LENT.?

ANOTHER TRADITION OF MEN.

NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE.

OLD ENGLISH CUSTOM.

MESSIAH DID NOT ASK ANYONE TO FOLLOW HIS 40 DAYS AND NIGHTS

GOING WITHOUT FOOD. THAT WAS FOR HIM ONLY...(MATTHEW 9:13.)

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS ONLY GIVEN BY OBSERVING OUR HOLY FATHER'S

COMMANDMENTS; LAWS; AND JUDGEMENT. (ROMANS 10: 1-4.)

MESSIAH ONLY ENDED THE >(SACRIFICAL LAW OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE.)

HE BECAME HIS FATHER'S SACRIFICE TO SAVE BELIEVERS WHO BELIEVE IN HIS WHOLE LAW.

STOP IT.

THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK IS A WEDNESDAY. THREE DAYS MORE WOULD BE 7TH DAY.

MESSIAH IS MASTER OF THE SABBATH.

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU READ THIS AND LET IT PASS- OVER YOUR HEAD?

NO-WHERE DOES HE CALL THE 1ST DAY ANYTHING BUT A WORK DAY.

    QUIT SHOUTING. So if you don't want to observe Lent, then don't observe Lent. Why is it assumed by non-Catholics that every "religious tradition" not found in the Bible is evil?

    Christ did mention fasting, and it wasn't only for Him. Mark 9:29 (KJV, Douay-Rheims), Matthew 17:21,Matthew 6:16,

    Prayer, fasting , and alms-giving are all spiritual practices that help to draw people closer to God especially when tied to penance. Lent is the primary penitential season leading up to the joy of the Easter Season.

    Yes, you are correct - it is a tradition made by man - BUT - if it encourages someone in their walk of faith then you are wrong to condem them.

    Remember 'judge not lest you be judged' - the ones who would have stoned the woman taken in adultery were told 'let him that is without sin cast the first stone'.

    It's none of your business to tell someone what to do (or not) when it comes to religion, unless it's harming you. Those who observe Lent in general don't harm others by doing so, so keep your nose out of other people's business.

    And for the record, I don't observe Lent; it's not part of my beliefs.
