Did Obama get it right when he said this?

It's fascinating how people on the left always insist that conservatives thought deficit spending was OK when Bush did it. It was not, and most criticized him for it time and time again. But I'm not a conservative. I'm a libertarian (not a member of the party, though).

Yes. And most people didn't understand that raising the debt limit needed to be done to meet current obligations, not to wildly increase spending.
The fact is that government spending under Obama has increased at its lowest rate since Eisenhower.

No. Political rhetoric gets in the way. Since you're a conservative, you're blind to reality. Bush43 signed legislation to increase the national debt 11 times in 8 years. You thought that was OK.
