Is he flirting or what?

There's this new kid at my school, he's in my first and third period class and well he teases me sometimes. Like when I'm walking to a class i always see him and he teases me and then says just kidding and i reply "your mean!" but jokingly and well whenever we bump into each other he smiles. The other day in class he said "something smells good, is it you?" and I said idk. Anyways that was weird so I started to think.
