Is it possible to mount an .iso file in Ubuntu without using any of the apps, just the Terminal?

I installed Ubuntu from a friend's disc but it was a 64-bit version and it seems I need the 32-bit one. I'm not capable of downloading and burning it on a CD right now so I can only use a USB drive. The problem is that I downloaded Ubuntu 32-bit and uploaded it on the drive but now I have no idea how to mount and install it because the Ubuntu Software Center crashes and I can't download G-mount.

If there is a command I can write in the Terminal to mount the file (which I also have on the desktop) and install the new version, it would be great. Thanks in advance.

In order to mount an iso file:

    mkdir mountpoint

sudo mount -o loop diskimage.iso mountpoint

Unfortunately, Ubuntu installation disks are compressed Live CDs, so that won't help you.

Oh, but you can install Ubuntu directly from your USB drive (provided that your computer can boot from USB drives):

Daemon kit is a unfastened application. All you may do is set up it and mount the image document via double clicking this device icon, it is going to then take place on your taskbar on the nicely suited. Then nicely suited click the icon in the taskbar, visit mount image and navigate to the .iso document.
