Can you get back on disability for the same reason?

If you're disabled and on disability... Than you ask to try and work and get off disability... After they stop patying you each month for ssi/medicaid for that reason, can you ask to get back on if the same problem reoccurs???

Probably. The encourage people to try to work, so they have procedures to reapply.

SSA has a Work Incentive called Expedited Reinstatement, or ExR. If you work your way off of benefits, you have a 5 year window after you terminate from your cash payments where if your disability causes you to be unable to work again you are able to apply for ExR---which is much easier than reapplying. SSA will reinstate 6 mo of provisional payments while they make their decision. Instead of having to prove that you have a disability, you have to show that you still have a disability that SSA already proved before.

After 5 years you would have to reapply.
