PLEASE HELP - Littlewoods delivery not received but signed for?
I ordered a laptop from littlewoods and then cancelled it before it was dispatched. It is now on my bill and on the delivery status it states it has been delivered and signed for. I know this is not true and I have not received it. Littlewoods have been investigating for over a month now and my bill is due in a a week. If I do not pay I am in breach of contract and if I do pay for something I have no received its like I have acknowledged receiving it. I cannot afford to pay for a £500.00 laptop I do not own. Should I just cancel my payment and see what happens? Or is there another way out of this?
Littlewoods have finally sorted the problem. Thanks to all who replied.

If the payment is on a credit card, contact the card company to let them know the situation and that the charge is disputed. You should have done this immediately.
Make sure you have a record of every conversation with Littlewoods. These should be written down or recorded at the time of the conversation. Ideally, you will have written to them too confirming non-delivery and disputing the charge. Your cancellation should have been confirmed in writing though that is not a problem unless they are disputing cancellation.
It is unwise to just do things 'and see what happens'. What happens is that things get worse unless you conduct yourself in an orderly way, keep decent records and communicate the facts clearly. There is a proper mechanism for disputing credit card charges and it works (in a lumbering sort of a way). If the charge has been made to some other account (not a credit card), you still need to let them know the charge is disputed.
The onus is on Littlewoods to prove the computer was delivered.

Ask Littlewoods to block the account until it has been resolved, they should be happy to do that and suspend any further action, in fact they should have already done that if you are in dispute.
Give them another call. Who signed for it then at your address?
